JEWISH GRAVES IN NIEBIESZCZANY

This cemetery is located in the village, Granice, which, in 2022, only had 33 residents. Granice is down a dirt road that is behind a bus stop at the southeast end of Niebieszczany where the road branches off towards Poraż and Morochów. The cemetery is in Granice. Behind the bus stop is a short path, which runs next to an old wooden house. That path quickly turns to field and leads to the cemetery. You can see the little cemetery from the bus stop. The graves and memorial are in front of a stand of trees on private, accessible land. There are eight graves but only four have names. The other four have N.N. (no name) inscribed on the headstones. Below is an index of the headstones that have names. Please note that the names were inscribed using the Polish alphabet.

The plaque reads:

Here lie
31 Polish citizens of Jewish ancestry.
Residents of Poraż, Niebieszczany and Morochów
who were murdered in the spring of 1942 by the Hitlerites.
