Płonna Cemetery Burial Memorial Plaques
(old woj.) Krosno, Poland

This list represents the family names found on two plaques in the Płonna Greek Catholic (Łemko) cemetery, transcribed from photos taken by Debbie Greenlee in April, 2008. Apparently descendants determined who was originally buried in this cemetery and decided that plaques needed to be placed in order to honor the deceased.

There are visible graves in the cemetery but none have legible headstones. The cemetery has not been used in approximately 60 years. The entries appear below transliterated into Polish and English, however the original inscriptions were in Ukrainian Cyrillic. Please feel free to contact me if you think a name has been transliterated incorrectly.

Transliterated into Polish and edited by Debbie Greenlee. Thank you to John Gronsky for his help with the English transliteration. A photograph of the original memorial can be found at http://www.polishfamily.com under Plonna.

BURIED HERE AND OUTSIDE THE NATIVE VILLAGES.

[Ed. Notes: Wysoczany and Kamienne are probably the native villages referred to above as they were filial parishes to the Płonna parish. An English transliteration appears after the Priadka children’s memorial, below.]
